Follow step by step
01. Identify Resource-heavy programs
Some programs use very few resources when they are idle, others use a lot of processing and memory power.
Check which programs could be slowing down your laptop/PC.
How can check:
Press the Ctrl, Shift, and Esc keys at the same time or Ctrl, Shift, and Delete keys at the same time.
Select Task Manager. Click on Processes tab. Now you can see the programs are currently open and how much of the CPU, memory and disk each is using.
Close the programs which you are not using. If you don’t want this program better you remove permanently.
02. Check Start-up programs
Many programs are open while opening the laptop/PC. But we don’t need many programs at startup. So they should be closed.
How can disable:
Press the Ctrl, Shift, and Esc keys at the same time or Ctrl, Shift, and Delete keys at the same time. Select Task Manager.
Click on Startup tab. Check which programs you want disable then select program and right click then select Disable.
03. Uninstall unnecessary programs
Many PC come with programs and apps pre-installed, you might not even know they’re on your laptop.
Sometime when we install operating system we got default many programs and apps.
But we don’t know their work and we don’t use that’s programs and apps. So better uninstall/remove unnecessary programs/apps.
How can uninstall program:
Open the Control Panel>Select Programs and Features>Right click on the program select Uninstall then follow the directions.
04. Find out if you need more storage and memory
Check your storage. If your storage full or 75% you need more storage. You can delete your unnecessary file from your storage.
If you don’t want delete you can use upgrading your storage. If you don’t want upgrade your storage you can use external drive.
A quick and easy way to expand your storage is adding an external drive. External storage plugs straight into your laptop/PC via a USB cable.
If your laptop has a hard disk drive (HDD), consider upgrading it to a solid state drive (SSD). SSD is very faster from HDD.
Now check your memory. Your laptop/PC RAM (Random Access Memory) is vital to determining your system’s performance.
So adding more RAM for best perform of your laptop/PC.
Press the Ctrl, Shift, and Esc keys at the same time or Ctrl, Shift, and Delete keys at the same time. Select Task Manager.
Click on Performance tab open the Memory window. Now you can see how much memory use and available.
If your memory not available 25% you need to upgrade your memory.
05. Clean your disk
Cleaning your disk will remove files that are no longer needed can be safely deleted. It also deletes temporary files and empties the Recycle Bin.
How to clean disk:
Command: Windows + R >Type cleanmgr>select drive> click Ok>after scan select delete file list>click Ok
If command not working you can type Disk Clean Up into the search box on the taskbar and open the Disk Clean up App.
06. Disk Defragment
Disk Defragmentation is a process of organizing the contents of the disk in a way that all portions of the files are stored in a contiguous manner.
Disk Defragmentation helps reduce data access time and also consolidates the free space on the disk.
This step is only applicable HDD. If you already have an SSD, you can skip this step.
How can do disk defragment:
Command: Windows + R >Type dfrgui>Ok>select drive>click Analyze>again same select drive>click optimize
If command not working you can type Disk Optimize into the search box on the taskbar and open the Disk Optimize App.
07. Check your web browser
When you are see your browser is running slowly you can follow below step.
>Update your browser
>Remove unused “Add-ons” or “Extensions”
>Clean unnecessary History and cash file
08. Shutdown and Restart Regularly
Sometime programs are running in background because we forgotten close program.
So regularly Shutdown your laptop/PC or Restart your laptop/PC.
Note: Always keep clean your laptop/PC. If you not clean your laptop obstructs airflow and casuses computer to overheat. Because dust collects in the fan.
